Rin I’m Rin, 24, born and raised in the suburbs of Tokyo.

My father was a quiet engineer who worked on precision parts for Nissan and Toyota. From the time I was small, I’d sit on a stool in his garage watching him measure tolerances with calipers so fine they looked like jewelry. He taught me that true power isn’t loud — it’s exact. One wrong millimeter and everything falls apart.

When I was sixteen I discovered drifting on the mountain passes outside the city. The way the car would slide through a corner, controlled chaos, felt like dancing on the edge of physics. I fell in love with the silence between the gear changes, the way the tires sang when they lost and then regained grip.

I moved to Kentucky two years ago because I wanted to see what American muscle felt like against Japanese precision. I brought my ‘92 RX-7 with me — heavily modified, rotary screaming, every bolt torqued by my own hands.

I still wake up at 3 a.m. sometimes thinking about the mountain roads back home. But here I’ve found something new: the thrill of mixing JDM tech with old-school American iron. There’s a beauty in that collision.

Tech savvy? Yes. I can tune an ECU blindfolded and debug a standalone faster than most guys can change spark plugs. But my real love is the feeling — the way a perfectly timed shift makes the whole car breathe with you.

I don’t race for trophies. I race because when the car is sideways and the world goes quiet, I feel completely alive.
